A coating locks in whatever is underneath it — on a car, a truck or a motorcycle. So correction, decontamination and clay are part of every package — measured, corrected and cured in a proper shop on a lift. This isn't a driveway job and we don't price it like one.
A liquid polymer that bonds to the clear coat and cures into a semi-permanent layer. Not a wax. Doesn't change the color.
Same hood, same car, a few hours apart. On the left, black paint that has chalked — the clear coat has broken down under Arizona UV until it scatters light instead of reflecting it. That white haze isn't dirt, it's the finish failing. On the right, the same panel corrected and coated.
Nothing was painted. That's the original factory finish, with the failed surface layer removed and the sound clear coat underneath brought back — then sealed so it doesn't happen again.
A body shop would have quoted a respray for that hood, and a respray goes on the vehicle's history permanently.
There's a limit to this. Clear coat is finite, and once it has actually failed and started peeling, correction can't help — that's a respray, and a respray shows on Carfax. We measure thickness before starting so we know what there is to work with, and we'll tell you if a panel is past saving.

Interior coating is protection, not cleaning. If the inside just needs a deep clean, that's interior detailing from $250.
Coupes, sedans and smaller sports cars. The starting point for most vehicles, and where a coating makes the most visible difference on dark paint.
Family SUVs, minivans and three-row vehicles. More panel area than a sedan and usually more road miles, which is exactly where easier washing earns its keep.
Half-tons through duallys. Rockers, lower doors and valances come up to eye level on the lift — the areas that take the most abuse and get skipped most often.

Arizona sun dries and cracks leather, and once it's gone you're looking at reupholstery rather than repair. Light and red leather benefit most — those are the ones that show dye transfer from jeans. Add it to any package or book it on its own.

That's a coated black panel mid-wash, untouched. Nobody is scrubbing it. The foam breaks up and runs off on its own and takes the dirt with it — which is what you'll actually notice every week, long before anyone talks about UV.
On unprotected paint that foam sits where you put it and has to be agitated off with a mitt. That contact is where swirl marks come from.

No. Ceramic handles UV, chemical etching, water spotting and light wash swirls. It will not stop a rock chip — that needs paint protection film. Film on the impact zones with coating over the whole vehicle is the combination most people end up wanting.
In this climate, yes. Wax breaks down within weeks under Arizona UV and heat, so you're reapplying constantly. A coating lasts years, protects considerably better against UV, and makes the car far easier to keep clean. The up-front cost is higher; the time and protection are not close.
Four stages, and most of the work happens before any coating goes on.
Measure. Paint thickness gauged on every panel, so we know how much clear coat there is and how far it can safely be corrected — important on a resprayed panel or a car that's been polished hard before.
Decontaminate. Wash, chemical decontamination and a clay stage. Even a brand new car carries rail dust and industrial fallout from transport; coat over it and the ceramic never bonds properly.
Correct. Multi-stage machine correction under professional lighting that shows every swirl. On a 6-foot lift, so rockers, lower doors and valances get the same attention as the hood.
Coat and cure. Applied and cured in a climate-controlled shop. Temperature and humidity both affect how a coating bonds, which is the single biggest reason this can't be done properly in a driveway.

Usually not. Correction is exactly how we deal with an older finish — swirls, light scratches and oxidation often come out. We measure the clear coat first to see how much there is to work with, and we'll tell you honestly if a panel has been polished too thin to correct safely.
