Six manufacturer certifications

Trained by the people who make it.Certifications held by Elite Auto Spa, San Tan Valley Arizona

Anyone can buy ceramic coating or film. Certification means the manufacturer trained Tyler on their product, tested him on it, and stands behind the work — which is also what makes their warranty valid on your vehicle.

Why it matters

What a certification actually gets you

It isn't a badge for a website. There are three practical consequences, and the third is the one that costs you money if it's missing.

Trained on the product

Each manufacturer trains on their own chemistry and technique — surface prep, application, cure conditions. Products behave differently, and what's right for one coating will ruin another.

Access to professional lines

Several of these products aren't sold to the public at all. Gtechniq Crystal Serum is only released to certified installers, which is the point of it.

Your warranty is valid

This is the one that matters. A manufacturer warranty generally requires certified installation. Film fitted by someone uncertified can leave you with no coverage at all — and you'd find out at claim time.

Kept current

Formulas and techniques change. Certification isn't a one-time exam; staying current with each manufacturer is part of holding it.

Ceramic coating

Cerakote and Gtechniq

Cerakote · Certified applicator

Cerakote

Cerakote didn't start in automotive. It was developed for firearms, military hardware and aerospace — rifle barrels, service equipment, environments where a finish survives heat and abrasion or fails visibly. The automotive line comes from the same company.

Tyler is factory-certified across their full automotive range, trained directly by the manufacturer.

  • Factory-certified applicator
  • Advanced surface preparation training
  • Full automotive line authorization
  • Cars, trucks, SUVs and motorcycles
  • 5-year warranty, card issued at pickup
5-year warranty
Gtechniq · Certified installer

Gtechniq

One of the gold standards in professional coating, with a certification program covering advanced surface prep, multi-layer application and long-term performance. Rigorous enough that it filters out most of the market.

Tyler holds Crystal Serum authorization — a product the manufacturer only releases to certified installers.

  • Certified installer status
  • Crystal Serum authorization
  • Advanced paint correction training
  • Multi-layer coating application
  • Manufacturer warranty coverage

GSWF · Certified installer

Built for helicopter blades.

Paint protection film traces back to the US military, which needed to stop debris chewing up helicopter rotor blades. The idea hasn't changed — a tough clear urethane layer that takes the hit so the surface underneath doesn't.

Defender Platinum is GSWF's flagship: self-healing urethane that absorbs rock chips, bug etching and road debris. Light swirls in the film disappear with heat, so it stays clear rather than hazing. Certification is what makes the lifetime manufacturer warranty valid on your vehicle.

Undrdog · Certified applicator

Marine, specifically

Undrdog is a marine coating, not an automotive product adapted for boats. It's engineered for gel coat, fiberglass and aluminum facing constant UV, mineral-rich lake water and the demands of watercraft.

Tyler is a certified Undrdog applicator, trained specifically in marine surface preparation. We tested several marine coatings before settling on this one — in Arizona conditions it held up better under UV and stayed easier to clean.

Worth knowing

All six belong to Tyler

Certifications are held by individuals, not buildings. At a larger shop, the certified installer might be trained and the person actually working on your vehicle might not be — and you'd have no way to tell.

Here, Tyler holds every certification on this page and is on every job. His son works alongside him. Small enough that you know exactly who worked on your vehicle — and small enough that we don't take on volume.
