With proper maintenance, most of our ceramic coating applications perform well for up to 5 years in Arizona's climate. Longevity depends on how the vehicle is maintained — regular washing with pH-neutral soap, avoiding brush car washes, and using the right maintenance products all make a significant difference. See our warranty page for the full picture on longevity vs. warranty.
No — and any shop that tells you it will is not being straight with you. Ceramic coating protects against UV damage, chemical etching, light swirls, and makes your paint dramatically easier to clean. It will not stop a rock chip. For rock chip protection you need Paint Protection Film (PPF). The two work great together — PPF on impact zones, ceramic coating on top across the entire vehicle.
For most vehicle owners in Arizona, yes. Wax breaks down in weeks under Arizona's UV and heat — you're constantly reapplying it. Ceramic coating lasts years, provides far superior UV protection, and makes your vehicle dramatically easier to keep clean. The up-front cost is higher, but the time saved and the level of protection are both significantly better.
Typically 1-3 days depending on the vehicle's size and paint condition. The preparation work — decontamination, paint correction, surface prep — takes the most time and is the most important part. We use a 6-foot lift to inspect every surface at eye level so nothing gets missed. We never rush the process.
Tyler personally does every ceramic coating job — not an employee or subcontractor. We have a 6-foot lift system that lets us inspect every inch of your vehicle at eye level. Our climate-controlled facility ensures proper application and curing regardless of outside temperatures. And we hold certifications from Gtechniq, IGL, Armour Detail Supply, and Cerakote — so you're getting properly trained hands on your vehicle.
No — wax is unnecessary and can actually interfere with the coating's performance. If you want to boost gloss or maintain the hydrophobic effect between washes, use a ceramic maintenance spray like our Blue Line Shine from Front Line Chemicals. It's specifically designed for ceramic-coated vehicles.
Wash regularly with pH-neutral soap (our Code 4 Soap is ideal), use clean microfiber towels, and avoid brush car washes. A ceramic maintenance spray every few washes keeps the hydrophobic effect strong. We'll walk you through everything when we return your vehicle and provide specific product recommendations.
Lockdown Layer is our in-house film — the same great protection without the big name marketing built into the price. It carries a 6-year warranty and performs excellently for the vast majority of drivers. Suntek is a premium industry-leading brand with a 10-year manufacturer warranty. Both are solid choices — we'll help you decide which makes more sense for your vehicle and how you drive.
When installed correctly, PPF is virtually invisible. However — seams exist on any PPF installation, and in certain lighting or angles (especially on darker vehicles) you may notice film edges. Any installer claiming zero visible seams isn't being straight with you. We use a digital plotter for computer-cut patterns and wrap edges wherever possible to minimize seams as much as possible.
Both together is the gold standard. PPF handles physical damage — rock chips, scratches, impacts on high-risk areas. Ceramic coating on top makes the entire vehicle effortless to clean, adds gloss, and protects from UV and chemical damage. Ask us about combining both for the best protection.
No — PPF prevents damage, it doesn't repair existing damage. Once paint is chipped through the clear coat, the only fix is a repaint. And a repaint shows up on Carfax as non-factory paint, which directly affects resale value. This is exactly why PPF is worth doing before damage occurs, not after.
Most PPF installs are completed within 1-2 days. You drop your vehicle off at your appointment time and pick it up when it's ready — you can drive it home the same day it's finished. We recommend waiting 7 days before the first wash to let everything fully cure.
Because a proper detail can't be done in a parking lot. You need unlimited water, proper drainage, professional equipment, controlled lighting, and a dust-free environment. Mobile detailing has real limitations that directly affect the quality of the result. We chose to do one thing — shop detailing — and do it right.
Our full detail covers both interior and exterior completely — multi-stage hand wash, ceramic sealant, tire and wheel cleaning, glass cleaning, trim treatment, full vacuum, leather cleaning and conditioning, carpet and fabric shampooing, dashboard and console cleaning, door jambs, cup holders and vents. One package, done right. See our detailing page for the full list.
A proper full detail takes 4-6 hours depending on vehicle size and condition. Drop off at 9 AM and plan for end-of-day pickup. We don't rush — your vehicle gets the time it needs to be done right.
Yes — both are available as add-ons. Pet hair removal is $25-75 depending on severity. For odors, we offer ozone treatment which eliminates odors at the molecular level (not just masks them) — pricing is $75-150 depending on how bad it is. Let us know when you book so we can plan the right amount of time.
Ceramic coating includes its own thorough preparation process — so you don't need a separate detail beforehand. However, regular detailing is a great way to maintain a coated vehicle between professional services and keep it looking its best year-round.
Absolutely — and in Arizona, outdoor storage makes it more important, not less. RVs stored outside face constant UV exposure, temperature swings, and dust. Fiberglass oxidizes quickly without protection, and reversing bad oxidation costs more than preventive coating. Ceramic coating is one of the best investments you can make for an RV that lives outside.
Yes. RVs have multiple surface types — fiberglass, aluminum, rubber seals, vinyl graphics — that require a coating specifically formulated for large vehicle surfaces. We don't use the same product on your RV that we use on a car's paint. The right product for the right surface makes a significant difference in longevity.
After testing multiple marine coatings, Undrdog consistently outperformed the competition on Arizona lake conditions — mineral deposits, UV exposure, and outdoor storage. It's a marine-specific product, not an automotive coating adapted for boats. We're a certified Undrdog applicator, and it's what we'd use on our own boat.
Yes — we address oxidation during the surface prep stage through polishing and correction before applying any coating. Coating over oxidized gelcoat would be a waste of money, so we won't skip that step. We'll be upfront about what's needed and what it costs before we start.
Yes — we use a 10-mil film specifically designed for RVs and trailers (heavier than the 7.5-8.5 mil used on cars). Lockdown Layer carries a 6-year warranty and Suntek carries a 10-year manufacturer warranty — same as on regular vehicles. See our warranty page for full details.
Unlike wax that melts and breaks down in Arizona's summer heat, ceramic coating is heat-stable and actually performs well in high temperatures. The intense UV in Arizona is one of the main reasons ceramic coating makes so much sense here — it provides a UV barrier that significantly slows paint fade, chalking, and oxidation.
More so than almost anywhere else. Arizona's highways — the 60, the 202, the 17 — are notorious for loose gravel and road debris. The combination of highway rock chips, dust storm abrasion, and intense UV creates a perfect environment for paint damage. PPF is the only solution that provides a real physical barrier against all of it.
In Arizona's dusty environment, washing every 2-3 weeks is a good rule of thumb — more frequently during dust storm season. The good news is ceramic coating makes washing significantly faster and easier. Dust and dirt rinse off far more easily than on unprotected paint, so even frequent washing takes less time and effort.
Very well. The hydrophobic properties of ceramic coating cause water to bead and sheet off quickly, which reduces water spotting after monsoon rains. The coating also makes it much easier to remove the mud, dust, and debris that monsoons leave behind. Most coated vehicle owners notice a clear difference during monsoon season compared to uncoated vehicles.
Yes — active military, veterans, police, fire, and EMS all qualify for our hero discount on any service. As a former firefighter, this isn't a marketing tactic — it's Tyler's way of saying thank you to the people who show up when it matters. We don't put a fixed number on it because every job is different — but if you serve or have served, we'll make sure you're taken care of. Just mention it when you reach out.
Yes — cars, trucks, SUVs, motorcycles, RVs, travel trailers, enclosed trailers, boats, and personal watercraft. Every vehicle gets the same level of attention regardless of what it is or what it's worth. A 2015 Honda gets treated the same as a 2024 Lamborghini.
Tyler holds certifications from Gtechniq, IGL Coatings, Armour Detail Supply, Cerakote, Suntek PPF, and Undrdog marine coating — 10+ factory certifications in total. These aren't just badges — they represent formal training in the products and techniques used on your vehicle.
